Echo Scarfs was founded by Theresa and Edgar Hyman on the day of their wedding in 1923.
In 1968 a leading American museum commissioned Echo to create a commemorative scarf, and the Echo Custom Design division was born.
In 1976 Echo begun producing private label products for retailers, corporations and museums nationwide.
In 1978 Mr. and Mrs. Hyman's daughter Dorothy Roberts became President and CEO of Echo.
Echo begun selling in Europe in 1983.
In 1993 Echo entered the domestics market in style via a licensing agreement for bedding.
In 1996 Echo introduced fine paper products.
Echo wallcovering, printed and woven fabrics became available through additional licensing agreements in 1997.
Dayton Hudson selects Echo to receive its 1997 Vendor Excellence Award. Echo celebrates its 75th Anniversary at The Pucci Gallery in New York City. In 1998 Echo releases a home design book entitled A Home for All Seasons by Meg and Steven Roberts.
Echo introduced their own handbag collection in spring 2004.
In Fall 2004 Echo opened a 600 square foot shop at Macy's State Street store in Chicago.
Echo launched its beachwear collection including pareos, dresses and beach bags in spring 2006.
Today Dorothy Roberts son Steven is CEO and President, her daughter Lynn is Vice President of Advertising and Public Relations, and her daughter-in-law, Meg Roberts, is the Design Director for Echo’s successful Home division.
