The success of CEP is rooted in its parent company, medi. Since 1951, medi has been producing high-quality medical compression products at its location in Bayreuth. In 2007, CEP started producing highly technical compression socks and has since benefited from the medical expertise of its parent company, one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical compression products. Today, CEP's range includes not only socks and stockings, but also tights, trousers, and shirts for running, hiking, and skiing. All products are developed individually for each sport in collaboration with recognized scientists, sports doctors, professional athletes, and designers, and are produced to the highest quality standards​.

CEP's commitment to innovation and improvement is demonstrated by the milestones it has reached over the years. In 2007, the first CEP compression sock was born​. 2008 saw the introduction of the first sock with the new CEP logo, making the diamonds a prominent symbol​​. The first compression running shorts hit the market in 2010​​, and the "Progressive Line" was introduced as a new design element in 2011, shaping CEP socks to this day​​. In 2013, the CEP sock family expanded with the introduction of short socks​, and in 2015, the first sports bandages appeared on the German market​.
