Cecilia Yau launched her own label in 1999. In less than three years, she already has her own design studio in Hong Kong that offers made-to-order gowns and dresses.
Apart from her own label "Cecilia", she also runs the Cecilia Yau Design Studio offering fashion design and consultancy services. Cecilia focusses on high fashion, covering ready-to-wear, party wear, evening wear, bridal and costume wear.
The Look
Trained in Hong Kong and Paris, the designer can work on different materials - fur, denim, knits and leather. More often than not, she would use and mix these materials in one outfit resulting into an interesting mix of texture and color.
Technically proficient, Cecilia Yau leans towards couture. She gives it a rawness feel, showing harmony between noble and rough.
