Carolee was founded in 1972 by jewelry designer Carolee Friedlander. Her mission: to design jewelry and accessories that women could come to know, trust, collect and build upon. Her commitment to quality and to marketing to women, set her apart in a very competitive industry. In 2001, Carolee sold the company to Retail Brand Alliance, owners of Brooks Brothers.

In 2007, Carolee celebrated its 35th anniversary and moved into distinctive new headquarters equipped to support the company's future growth. The 40,000 square foot space features state of the art design, distribution, manufacturing and office facilities all under one roof. With enhanced capability, Carolee will continue to offer distinctive jewelry collections that reflect a contemporary woman's lifestyle and the finest in quality, prestige and sophistication.

As a company of 80% women, Carolee has built strong ties to its customers representing a sense of style, taste and quality - and has become known for such attributes as trust, integrity, sophistication and confidence.One of the company's passions has been its involvement in working with women's organizations to drive greater awareness and opportunities for women in the business world.

Carolee is distributed in premier department and specialty stores. Their portfolio of brands has a major presence in leading department stores, such as Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Dillard's and Belk stores. Additionally, their products may be found in many local boutiques and upscale regional retailers throughout the world.

Carolee is available internationally at such leading retailers as Sogo and Maboli (Taiwan), Rustan's (Philippines), El Palacio del Hierro (Mexico), Maduro (Panama), Desert Rose (Abu Dhabi), The Bay (Canada), and TSUM (Russia). Carolee can be found on Delta Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airlines. The scope of their international reach is growing and includes retailers throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia.
