about
Designed in house by co-owners Matthew Murphy and Kirk Beattie, the b Store clothing collection represents stylish basics something classic with a modern edge and ultimately, the completing items of your wardrobe. The duo first crossed paths in the early nineties with Matthew as a menswear buyer for a contemporary fashion store and Kirk as the proprietor of his own boutique. They quickly became friends and shared a common interest in the fashion and music scene with views they felt were quite different to their peers. In 2001 Matthew met Jos Neves an independent brand owner who was keen to launch a London-based footwear label, and the brand was born. Since, Matthew and Kirk have become the face of b Store, working inside the boutique and designing its collections.
The label launched in 2001 solely as a shoe line - devised by co-owners Jos Neves, Matthew Murphy and Kirk Beattie - with its home in Mayfairs Conduit Street, London. The original concept for the store was to create a launch-pad for young designers within the fashion, art and design sphere by inviting graduates from London colleges to stock their collections and complement the b Store shoe line. Following its success and early renown for carrying innovative labels, the store moved in 2006 to its current location on Savile Row. The b Store brand evolved to offer a unisex clothing line, adding another dimension to the concept which earned the store the coveted Shop of the Year title at the British Fashion Awards. b Store now presents seasonal collections on schedule at London Fashion Week, selling to over fifty stockists worldwide.
