about
B-Side is the fashion jewelry label; this label was initially conceived only as a place for Ken & Dana to experiment with materials and techniques non-traditional to fine jewelry metalsmithing. What started as an experiment, however, became immediately popular with retailers and fashion editors. Today they continue that ideal at b-side, showcasing their creative jewelry remixes.
Their pieces are big, bold and glittering; eschewing costly metals and gemstones, this collection relies on elegant materials like silver, brass and enamel that retain a classic finesse but materialize into contemporary, directional pieces.
The collection is inspired by the cultural revolution of the 1980s in NYC, specifically the emerging hip-hop movement and graffiti as an art form. The brands cheekiness is readily apparent prices of certain pieces reflect penal law codes that banned graffiti, so you really do get what you pay for.
