Armedangels

Armedangels, stylized as ARMEDANGELS, is a renowned fashion label based in Cologne, Germany. The company was established in 2007 by Anton Jurina and Martin Höfeler under the name of Social Fashion Company GmbH. Armedangels has since been dedicated to selling sustainable fashion products primarily to the LOHAS demographic, transforming the perception of eco-friendly clothing from being "hippy-like" to being seen as 'hip' and 'chic' streetwear.

The brand is committed to making a social statement about the fashion industry and collaborates solely with socially responsible companies that are certified as fair trade. Its mission is not only to raise awareness about the fashion industry and its inherent injustices but also to be recognized as "eco warriors in the process of saving the world". This ethos has attracted the support of celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Al Gore.

The philosophy of Armedangels is built on three main pillars: environmental friendliness, fair trade support, and charity donations. It uses organic cotton and minimizes large shipping distances, ensuring a minimal carbon footprint. The company also adheres to a strict policy of paying minimum wage to their farmers in India, and it donates a euro of their profits from every piece of clothing sold. This commitment extends to its partnerships with charity organizations such as Pratham, Trinkwasserwald, and Viva con Agua. Notably, Armedangels has used recycled synthetic fibers to create non-biodegradable products.

In addition to its core business, Armedangels has partnered with various other fashion labels including Kuyichi, Terra Plana, Stewart & Brown, Fresh Cuts, and KnowledgeCotton Apparel. The brand has also seen collaborations with German actress Cosma Shiva Hagen, TV star Collien Fernandes, and top model Eva Padberg, the latter designing a unique t-shirt "Two Hearts - One Rhythm" sold online.

In the financial year 2020, Armedangels reported an impressive annual turnover of € 35 million and donated approximately € 40,000 to the environmental movement in Germany, Extinction Rebellion​.
