about
Alice + Olivia is a contemporary women's clothing brand designed by founder Stacey Bendet.
Alice + Olivia was founded by former Penn classmates Stacey Bendet and Rebecca Matchett at Barneys NY in 2002. (The line is named after the first names of the pairs mothers.)
Nicknamed StaceyPants, she was often found rollerblading through the city in those bold striped bell bottoms that the collection became instantly famous for. Shortly after the launch of the line, Bendet split from Matchett and picked up Theory founder Andrew Rosen as chief financial partner in 2003.
The line stayed true to its roots and Staceys quirky sensibility, focusing on the perfect pants while gradually expanding and growing into a collection of detailed pieces including everything from sexy sequin dresses to great sweaters, and structured coats.
Alice + Olivia has grown into 50 million dollar brand including a mens line and a children's line since its launch. The collection is sold in over 800 stores around the globe such as Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Scoop, and Harrods. Alice + Olivia has five free standing stores located in New York City, Los Angeles, Malibu, Greenwich, and Southampton.
