- McKenzie began her career in modeling while in high school in Toronto, Canada. Being told she was too distinctive for the Canadian market, she took the advice and tried her luck in New York. She was immediately picked up by Elite Model Management.

- She started her own company called "Stacey McKenzie's Walk This Way," which teaches aspiring models about the industry.
