about
Versace Classic - V2 began life as a break-away line of the Versace Couture Uomo collection. We can also consider it the result of a joint venture between the Gianni Versace company and Ermenegildo Zegna for the production, world wide distribution and sales of a very particular collection strictly for men.
The need to create this new line came from an enormous demand from world markets for a line which could interpret the Couture line in a more "commercial" way, at a price accesible to wider distribution, thus satisfying the requisites of that slice of the market which has always sought the Versace style.
In this way the difference in style between Versace Classic - V2 and the other Versace lines is not so evident, especially as Versace Classic - V2 reflects Gianni Versace's Couture collection in more classical and easier versions.
Versace Classic - V2 made its first appearance in the States in 1990, and in the summer of 1991 it was presented in Italy at the Pitti Uomo fair in Florence, and ever since in every following European season and from spring/summer 93 also in Japan.
Versace Classic V2 men's suits are plain, plaid or striped, in timeless black, blue, white and beige. With There are also suits and trousers in bolder colors for the more daring dresser.
